This is made possible by a sophisticated manufacturing process: starting from a 2.34 mm spoke, the diameter is cold-forged down to 2 mm at the thread and just 1.8 mm in the centre. This results in a maximum weight saving of 173 g compared with straight-gauge spokes. Despite its thinner centre section, the DT Alpine III retains maximum strength and reliability. It is ideal for heavily loaded wheels, such as those on tandems or e-bikes
